Sukhbir Singh Badal to contest from Ferozepur

Chandigarh, Apr 23 (UNI) The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Tuesday announced its candidates from Ferozepur and Bathinda parliamentary constituencies. 

While the party president Sukhbir Singh Badal will himself contest from Ferozepur, his wife, and Union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal will fight from Bathinda. hThey have declared that they would file their nomination papers on April 26.


Both the SAD President and the Union minister will pay obeisance at Sri Harmandar Sahib to seek the blessings of the almighty on April 26 before proceeding to file their nomination papers.


Giving this information, political secretary to SAD president, Mr Charanjit Singh Brar said besides Mrs Sukhbir Badal and Mrs Harsimrat Badal five other party candidates will also file their nomination papers on April 26. These include Bibi Jagir Kaur from Khadoor Sahib, Maheshinder Singh Grewal from Ludhiana, Gulzar Singh Ranike from Faridkot, Surjit Singh Rakhra from Patiala and Charanjit Singh Atwal from Jalandhar.


Brar informed that the party would start its nomination filing process on April 25 with the filing of nominations by Darbara Singh Guru from Fatehgarh Sahib.

 

He said the remaining two SAD candidates Prof. Prem Singh Chanddumajra and former Minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa would file their nominations for Shri Anandpur Sahib and Sangrur respectively on April 29.
