Congress's South Delhi candidate Vijender Singh files nomination
New Delhi, Apr 23 (UNI) Olympic medallist Vijender Singh who was announced as the Congress candidate for South Delhi constituency has filed his nomination for the Lok Sabha polls on Tuesday.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Vijender said,''Have filed my nomination from South Delhi seat for #LokSabhaElections2019 today. Will need your blessings and support.''
He has won the bronze medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Vijender, who held a road show before filing of the nomination in the national capital, said, ''I don't see any Modi wave anywhere in the country.''

In a triangulr contest, he will take on BJP's sitting MP Ramesh Bidhuri and AAP's Raghav Chadha.
The Delhi goes to polls on May 12 in the sixth phase. The result will be declared on May 23.
