Karnataka: Two elephants die in Mysuru district and Bandipur National Park
Mysuru/Chmarajanagara, Apr 28(UNI) Close on the heels of death of famous Mysuru Dasara elephant 'Drona' a couple of days back, two more elephants found dead in Mysuru district and Bandipur National Park forest ranges.
In the first incident, a 45 year old female elephant found dead in Choukur forest range in Piriyapatna taluk in the district. Forest officials said on Sunday that an elephant with weak was found in the forest, later the officials tried to save it but it succumbed.
However, the villager’s complaint and express their unhappy over the treatment given to the elephant by the officials. They blamed the officials careless and not treated it properly and thus causing its death.
In another incident a 43 year-old Tusker was found dead in Goplaswamy hill ranges in Bandipur forest areas on Saturday.
Forest officials suspected that the elephant might have killed in a fight with another elephant. There were several marks of injuries found on the body of the elephant. This was noticed when the forest officials on the regular rounds in the forest. Veterinary doctor Nagaraj conducted the postmortem.
