Burning files won't save you: Rahul Gandhi's fresh attack on Modi

New Delhi, Apr 30 (IBNS): After facing setback from the Supreme Court for raising the 'Chowkidar' slogan in his rallies, Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday launched fresh attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said burning files wouldn't save the Prime Minister.

This comes after a fire was reported from Delhi's Shastri Bhawan, which houses several government departments and provides shelter to various files.

Though no damage was reported, Gandhi banked on the situation and tweeted: "Modiji burning files is not going to save you. Your day of judgement is coming."

According to the fire department , the blaze in Shastri Bhawan was a minor one and was brought under control in a few minutes.

Earlier in the day, in connection with a case, Gandhi told the Supreme Court that he would apologise for wrongly attributing the "Chowkidar chor hai" remark to the judges who are hearing the petition.

In his affidavit, Gandhi said he falsely quoted the top court as "rhetorical flourish in the heat of political campaigning" without having read or analysed the order.
