PM Narendra Modi tears into Congress manifesto
Shimla, May 10 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday teared into Congress manifesto and lashed out at the party for promising to withdraw Armed Force Special Powers Act and repeal sedition law.
He said, most of the Jawans in security forces come from Himachal Pradesh and they are known for their valor. He also lashed out at Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumarawamy for disrespecting the Armed force's Jawans.
Modi said Karnataka CM says Jawans join army because they have no other work. Prime Minister said the previous UPA government provided only Rs 500 crore for one rank one pensions scheme, however the BJP-led NDA government provided Rs 35,000 crore for the scheme.
Modi said his government provided bulletproof jackets to the Army jawan as their mothers are always worried about their them.
Striking the chord with Sikh voters of Mandi, he raised the 1984 anti-Skih riots and said Congress needs to be punished as they are responsible for the riots. He said during last five years his government is bringing to book the perpetrators of the riots and sending them to jails.
He said Manali has tremendous potential for tourism as the Solang valley is known for the Paragliding. "During my stay as Himachal incharge, I also attempted the paragliding. Some of the Solang Paragliders whom I know even today also guide me to take the flight."
The daughter of paraglider Roshan Lal, has recently became international skiing champion, the prime minister said.
Modi said, he feels like Himachal is his second home.
