Sheila Dikshit, Sisodia, Gambhir cast their vote
New Delhi, May 12 (UNI): Former Delhi Chief Minister and Congress candidate from North East parliamentary seat Sheila Dikshit, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and BJP nominee from East Delhi Gautam Gambhir were among the early voters who have exercised their adult franchise in the national capital on Sunday.
Along with six other states of the country, polling to seven Lok Sabha seats is underway in the national capital.
The seven parliamentary seats are witnessing a triangular contest between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), BJP and Congress.
The former Chief Minister has cast her franchise at a polling booth in Nizamuddin while the Deputy Chief Minister at a polling station in Pandav Nagar.
"We (Congress) are confident of our win," Dikshit said after casting her vote.
Stating that good governance was the need of the hour, Sidodia appealed people to come out and cast their vote.
"I have voted for full statehood in Delhi," Sisodia said.
BJP nominee and cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir exercised his franchise at a polling booth in Old Rajinder Nagar.
"Done my bit !! It's your turn now.. Go Vote Delhi," Gambhir tweeted along with a photo of himself and his wife Natasha Jain holding their voter cards as they stood in a queue at a polling booth on Old Rajendra Nagar.
