BJP MP demands criminal case filed against Congress leader Mallikarjuna Kharge

Kalaburagi, May 13 (UNI) Karnataka BJP General Secretary and the Lok Sabha member Shobha Karandlaje has demanded the state police to register a criminal case against the Congress floor leader in Lok Sabha Mallikarjuna Kharge for allegedly challenging the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to commit suicide near Rajiv Chowk, if Congress fails to secure a minimum 40 seats in the coming Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing newsmen here on Monday, the BJP leader took serious exception on Kharge’s remarks and said, “Narendra Modiji will once again take oath as the Prime minister of the country after the Lok Sabha elections”.

Expressing anguish over the statement she charged that “Kharge after realising his imminent defeat Kalaburgi in Lok Sabha polls was making reckless statements out of sheer desperation”.

Referring to former Chief minister Siddaramaiah’s statement that BJP had not given any party ticket to a OBC candidate in the Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka, she said that “Our prime minister Narendra Modi himself is a OBC leader”.

“When in Power, Siddaramaiah’s contribution to the overall development of the OBC community in Karnataka was forgettable,” she charged.

Referring to the opinion of the State JD(S) president H Vishwanath on Siddaramaiah, she said that “JD(S) leader had said the truth and because of his failure as the chief minister Congress was defeated in the state in the previous Assembly election”.

Reiterating party’s charge that the state government had neglected the plight of the people of the drought hit areas in the state, she said that “Chief minister instead of addressing grievances of the people, has chosen to stay in Resorts”.
