Two-yr-old dies, nine injured in Kolhapur road accident

Kolhapur, May 19 (UNI): Two-year-old baby child was killed on the spot while nine other including five women sustained injuries in a accident, which occurred in Hatkanangale tehsil town of this district, on Kolhapur-Sangli national highway in Maharashtra on Sunday morning.

According to Hatkanangale police, ten members family of Basavraj Ashok Kumbhar(30), resident of Savlge village in Jamkhandi tehsil of Bagalkot district in Karnataka state, were on way to Wadi-Ratnagiri in Panhala tehsil of this district for took 'darshan' of lord Joytiba,with newly married couple by a trax.

A speedy truck loaded with cement, collided head on with the trax.

In this incident two-year old baby child Shivaji Siddhapa Kumbhar, was dead on the spot while nine other family members including five women, were injured , four of them were serious, who shifted to Chhatrapati Pramila Raje hospital for medical treatment.

Police detained truck the driver.

Police identified injured as Nilma Basavraj Kumbhar(25), Kaveri Siddhapa Kumbhar(25), Radhika Bhairappa Kumbhar (28), Bhairappa Kumbhar (32), Ritesh Siddhapa Kumbhar(9), Hanjisal Mulla (57), Nirmala Sudesha Kumbhar (34) and Premavali Durgappa Kumbhar (40), all from Savlge village.

Hatkanangale police investigating further of the incident.
