Lok Sabha Polls: Counting begins in Bengal at 8 AM
Kolkata, May 23 (UNI) Counting of votes for Lok Sabha elections today began at 8 AM in all the 42 seats in Bengal amid foolproof security arrangements to decide the fate of 466 aspirants.
Counting is going on in altogether 58 centres all over the state under the strict glare of 282 companies of central security forces.
Of the 282 companies, 200 companies will stay back in the state till May 27, while the rest is in the charge of the counting centres.
At the onset postal ballots are being taken for counting to be followed by EVM and subsequently VVPATs.
In Bengal, highest number of rounds will take place in the Lok Sabha constituencies of Jhargram and Kolkata South, while the lowest rounds of ten will be at Jalpaiguri, Raigunj and Balurghat.
