BJP leader Hema Malini ahead in poll race in Mathura; extends gratitude to voters

Mathura, May 23 (UNI) Yesteryear actress and Bollywood's dreamgirl Hema Malini is leading with a decisive margin from the Mathura Lok Sabha seat.

Ms Malini is heading the poll race against Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) candidate Kunwar Narendra Singh by over 1 lakh votes.

The RLD candidate is hitherto, second in the poll race with 1,06,492 votes while Indian National Congress's Mahesh Pathak is at the third place for with 8,350 votes.
Expressing her views on the election trends, the BJP leader said that the electorate voted on the issue of development. Further, she thanked all the voters for the sopport.

Hema Malini is quite elated with the results that have come out till now.
Ms Malini, who reached the vote-counting center, expressed her gratitude towards the voters and said that she was very happy with the results which have come up till now.

Hema Malini's husband and Bollywood actor Dharmendra had also campaigned for his wife who is fighting to retain her seat for the second-term.

Malini's family member Sunny Deol, who is in the poll race from the Gurdaspur seat, is also ahead in the electoral battle.
