New Delhi: Modi wave all set to sweep seven LS seats
New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) AAP's national ambition suffered a setback on Thursday as the Modi wave was all set to sweep seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi.
The Bharatiya Janata Party was leading on all the seats in the Capital as counting of votes progressed.
BJP's prominent candidates--Harsh Vardhan, Meenakshi Lekhi, Manoj Tiwari and debutant cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir--were all ahead in their respective seats.
According to the official website of the Election Commission of India, Gautam Gambhir was ahead by a margin of 2,66,839 votes against Congress' Arvinder Singh Lovely in East Delhi.
AAP's Atishi is on the third position in the triangular contest.
BJP's sitting MP Meenakshi Lekhi was also ahead against Indian National Congress' Ajay Maken in New Delhi Lok Sabha seat and is now ahead by 2,07,669 votes.
On the North East Delhi seat, Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari was ahead against Congress Delhi president Sheila Dikshit with a margin of 329986 votes.
Sufi singer and BJP leader Hans Raj Hans was ahead against AAP's Gugan Singh in North-West Delhi by 3,94,221 votes and BJP's Harsh Vardhan was ahead from Chandni Chowk seat against Congress' Jai Prakash Agarwal by 1,15,983 votes.
On South Delhi Lok Sabha seat, BJP's sitting MP Ramesh Bidhuri was ahead against AAP's Raghav Chadha with a margin of 2,57,965 votes.
BJP's Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma is ahead in West Delhi Lok Sabha seat against Congress' Mahabal Mishra with 3,98,857 votes.
