Puducherry: Man arrested for selling LSD

Puducherry, May 25 (UNI)Police arrested a man on charges of selling Lesergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD) here.

According to police on Saturday, they were on a mission to eradicate the Ganja menace from Puducherry when they came to know that LSD which is more intoxicative than Ganja is now being used by youths here.

Following this, they went after LSD and came to know that a medical representative is selling LSD here and arrested Arun (30) of Lawspet on Friday.

On interrogation, Arun informed the police that he came to know the use of LSD in a Pub in Bengaluru and started getting a stamp for Rs.1200 there and sell it for Rs.1800 here.

Police also seized the drug worth Rs.50,000 from his possession.

Police said the drug in a liquid form will be pasted on stamp size papers and dry it. When the paper is kept on the tongue, it get diluted and the person will get intoxicated in half an hour and the same state will continue for 24 hours.

Arun said that he was doing the business alone. But further investigation is on to find out whether any more persons are there behind this crime, police added.
