Varanasi, May 27 (IBNS): By offering prayers at Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his Varanasi trip after getting elected for the second consecutive term.

He was received by Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik and BJP president Amit Shah at the airport.

Modi had promised to visit his parliamentary constituency Varanasi after the elections.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader won the seat by a margin of close to five lakhs.

Modi and his council of ministers will take oath at 7 pm on May 30, the Rashtrapati Bhavan said in a statement.

President Ram Nath Kovind would administer the oath of office and secrecy to Prime Minister Modi and the ministers, it added.

The Modi-Shah duo has not given any indication on who could be given key portfolios such as finance, defence, external affairs and home.
