Locals rescue elephant calf which fell into a ditch

Guwahati, Jun 1 (IBNS): An elephant calf was rescued by local people after falling into a ditch in Assam’s Golaghat district.

The incident occured at Deopahar area near Numaligarh in Golaghat district on Friday.

According to reports, an elephant calf strayed from a herd fell into a ditch.

Some local people had noticed it and they had rescued the elephant calf.

Later, the elephant calf was handed over to the forest department.
