Puducherry, Jun 7 (UNI): Even as the Supreme Court weighs the pros and cons of the conflict between the state and executive in the Union Territory, Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi on Friday refuted Chief Minister V. Narayansamy's claims that the proposed agitation against the governor would not lead to any law and order problem.

In a WhatsApp text, Bedi said that this was a set of half truths and some are total lies.

"Unfortunately, telling lies is not an offence outside in the society, she said adding that the LG office does not meet the press daily and hold conferences, instead keep the focus on their work. This does not mean that misinformation is not rebutted and countered," she said.

She clarified that the people be assured that the LG's Office works in the interest of the people in letter and spirit and works within the frame work of law and rules as exist in the statute book.

"Public money is sacred and it is because of its careful handling, Puducherry was saved from a debt trap last year and on the contrary, Puducherry for the first time spent according to its budget and within borrowing limit," she said.
