Mysuru: Two Irani gang chain snatchers nabbed in the city
Mysuru, June 11(UNI) In an operation police have nabbed two notorious Irani chain snatch gang members while trying to break open the lock of a motorcycle which has been used for chain snatching in the city and other places.
Police said the arrested have been identified as Mustafa and Abu Talif of Emmanuel Nagar at Mettupalayam in Tamil Nadu.
During the interrogation the accused confessed that they were part of the Irani gang and had arrived in the city during May 2019. The duo had been stealing parked two wheelers and use it for chain snatching.
Police took them to Tamil Nadu and recovered two gold chains worth of about Rs 2 lakh.
The operation was carried out by a team led by Devaraja division ACP S Badrinath.
Cases were registered in Devaraja and Nazarbad police.
