Andhra Pradesh Assembly session to begin tomorrow

Amaravati, June 11 (UNI): The Andhra Pradesh Assembly session will begin here on Wednesday.

This is the first session after the Assembly Election held on April 11.

Chief Whip G Srikanth Reddy told media here on Tuesday that the newly elected MLAs would take oath tomorrow and Tammineni Sitaram would be formally elected as Speaker on June 13.

The Chief Whip informed that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy would take oath first followed by Leader of the Opposition and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu as legislators of the house.

He said that Governor E S L Narasimhan would address both the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council on June 14.

There would be no session on June 15 and 16 due to holidays.

The session would conclude on June 18, Reddy said.

He expressed confidence that the session would be held in a dignified and democratic manner and added that due importance would be given to the Opposition TDP also in the house.

Equal opportunities would be given in the house to both ruling and Opposition members, he added.
