Days after Mamata Banerjee warns party members on 'cut money', Nachiketa's song goes viral
Kolkata, June 23 (IBNS): At a time when West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee raised the issue of 'cut money' and warned party members who were involved in such acts, singer Nachiketa Chakraborty has composed a song to hit out at the issue and in no time the number has gone viral online.
Nachiketa, who is known for singing several popular Bengali songs in his career, has titled the song 'Cut Money'. The singer was once considered close to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and even shared her political platforms though he never formally held any position in her party or seen as one of the clique of intellectuals known for supporting Banerjee.
However, he has not been seen close to the ruling leadership of the state in recent times.

In the song, Nachiketa has urged corrupt politicians in the state to return the money taken from people in order to avoid facing their anger.
BJP MP Babul Supriyo has shared the song online and even thanked Nachiketa for composing it.
At a party meeting recently following her party's poor performance in the Lok Sabha polls, Mamata had directed party members who had taken cut money to return it to people.
Following the order, people in many villages in the state gheraoed Trinamool leaders at the panchayat level and even demanded them to return the 'cut money' they had paid them earlier.
In the latest song by Nachiketa, he has not mentioned any party or any political leader.
He shared the song on Youtube.
