Doors of Kamakhya temple reopened for devotees after conclusion of Ambubachi Mela

Guwahati, June 26 (IBNS): Lakhs of pilgrims from different parts of India and foreign countries on Wednesday offered their prayers to Maa Kamakhya after the doors of the Kamakhya temple atop the Nilachal Hill in Guwahati reopened after remaining closed for four days during the Ambubachi Mela.

The doors of Kamakhya temple which were closed from 1:40 am on June 23 reopened after routine rituals and prayers this morning with devotees eagerly waiting to get a darshan of Maa Kamakhya.

Devotees queued up from 1 am to enter the temple to offer their prayers to Goddess Kamakhya after the conclusion of the Ambubachi Mela.

Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal had offered their prayers to Maa Kamakhya early this morning.

Over 25 lakh devotees had visited the Kamakhya temple during this year Ambubachi Mela.
