The award was conferred by Chairman of SKOCH group Samir Kochhar in New Delhi on Saturday to the Chairman of AMTRON and Assam MLA Ramendra Narayan Kalita, Managing Director of AMTRON MK Jadav and Commissioner of Excise Assam.

More than 1000 nominations in this event saw presence of tough contenders right from the Defence Ministry to the corporate giants like Bharati AXA & Airtel and others wherein surpassing all the Excise Department of Assam for its landmark achievements in bringing transparency within the department earned the results of this historic win.

The Assam Excise Portal has been developed by AMTRON – an Assam government run organisation.

Sailendra Pandey, PRO to the Assam Excise minister Parimal Suklabaidya has expressed his sincere gratitude towards all officials of AMTRON, Kuldeep Gayan, IT OSD to Chief Minister of Assam, Lucky Gogoi, Vice-Chairperson, Assam State Anti-drug & Prohibition Council, all valuable voters including our associates and all media houses of Assam for their immense contributions, valuable votes and promotions during the voting process for this prestigious award.

Sailen Pandey said that, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement to open up a new highway of broadband and internet four years ago has seen a massive positive response from all over India.

“The announcement of the Prime Minister was seen as a firm dream of Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal which ushered in a upsurge trend of adoption of digitalisation across the state.  The announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Excise Department of Assam took it as a major challenge to convert the whole department into a paperless environment and this policy was hence implemented with a firm dedication under the leadership of Excise minister Parimal Suklabaidya,” Sailen Pandey said.
