Hyderabad, June 30 (IBNS): The brother of a TRS MLA, along with a host of party supporters, assaulted a group of forest officers on an afforestation drive and left a women forest officer injured. Videos of the assault have gone viral on social media.

Sixteen people, including Koneru Krishna Rao, the brother of Telangana Rashtra Samiti’s (TRS) Sirpur MLA Koneru Konappa, have been arrested, media reports said.

Krishna Rao was recently elected as vice-chairman of Komaram Bheem Asifabad Zilla Parishad.

In the video, forest range officer C Anita is seen standing on a tractor as Krishna Rao is seen raining blow on her head. The rest of the mob also lands the group of forest officials and the vehicles.

The forest officials were conducting a state government's tree-plantation drive on Sunday morning when the incident took place. The mob attacked them claiming ownership of the land.
