New Delhi, Jul 2 (UNI) AITC member in Lok Sabha Mahua Moitra on Tuesday said the politicisation of West Bengal during the discussion of law and order in the House should be avoided.

Speaking during the Zero Hour in the House, she said West Bengal is becoming a forum for discussion about law and order.

'West Bengal is unfairly singled out for discussion about violence,' she said adding that the violence in states like Uttar Pradesh goes unnoticed.

AITC member Sudip Bandyopadhyay during the Zero Hour spoke about the need to avoid raising State subjects in the House.

Independent MP from Mandya (Karnataka), Sumalatha Ambareesh, who spoke for the first time in Lok Sabha, raised the issue of drought situation in Mandya during the Zero Hour.

She said drought situation in Mandya is affecting the farmers in the district and there is a need to address it soon.

"I earnestly appeal to the PM and the Jal Shakti minister to provide immediate relief measures," she said.

"We have to save our 'annadata' and their right to live in dignity, " she added.
