New Delhi, July 6 (IBNS): Indian Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale paid an official visit to Bhutan on July 4 and 5, officials said.

"During the visit, Foreign Secretary had an audience with His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, the King of Bhutan and called on the Prime Minister of Bhutan, Lyonchhen (Dr) Lotay Tshering. Foreign Minister Lyonpo (Dr) Tandi Dorji hosted Foreign Secretary over dinner," Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.

The visit was an occasion for both countries to discuss all aspects of bilateral relations and to explore avenues for further strengthening and expanding the multifaceted India-Bhutan ties.

The visit of Foreign Secretary was in keeping with the tradition of regular high-level exchanges between the two countries.
