Navjot Singh Sidhu resigns from Punjab Cabinet, tweets letter to Rahul Gandhi
New Delhi, Jul 14 (IBNS): Punjab Congress Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu on Sunday informed that he resigned from the state cabinet.
The cricketer-turned-politician, who did not take charge of his ministry following the Cabinet reshuffle, tweeted his resignation letter on Sunday.
He had earlier submitted his resignation letter dated June 10 to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
"I hereby resign as Minister from the Punjab Cabinet," the 55-year-old leader wrote in the letter.

In another tweet, he wrote: "Will be sending my resignation to the Chief Minister, Punjab."

Last month, he had tweeted pictures with Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi after a meeting them in Delhi.

On June 6, Sidhu was stripped of a major portfolio in the state. He lost the Local Government portfolio and was instead entrusted with the charge of Power and Energy Sources.
