Sonbhadra aftermath: After Priyanka, now Trinamool delegation detained at Varanasi airport
Varanasi, July 20 (IBNS): A day after Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was detained in Uttar Pradesh's Mirzapur, a Trinamool Congress delegation, which was trying to meet the injured in the Sonbhadra shooting, claimed to have been detained at Varanasi Airport.
In a video, Trinamool Rajya Sabha MP Derek O'brien said: "We have just landed at Varanasi Airport. The police said we have been detained..... Our intention is to proceed to the BHU Trauma Centre and meet the injured. Then we wish to go to the spot at Sonbhadra. We are asking the police under what sections we have been detained."
Derek is accompanied by Trinamool MPs Sunil Mondol and Abir Ranjan Biswas.

Ten people were killed and 24 others injured in the shooting over a 36-acre piece of land.
Yagya Dutt, a village chief, along with his associates had fired upon tribal people who were unwilling to give up their land.
Priyanka, the Congress general secretary for east Uttar Pradesh, was stopped on Friday morning as she was on her way to Sonbhadra. She was later detained at a guest house where the Congress leader spent the entire Friday night.
