Sell precious objects of house to buy guns for self defence: Muslim lawyer gives call to his community, Dalits

New Delhi, July 22 (IBNS): Giving a call to take up arms, a Muslim lawyer has urged people belonging to his community and Dalits to buy guns for self defence.

In a video which has been aired by television channels, lawyer Mahmood Paracha was heard telling Muslims, Dalits and members of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) community to apply for gun license for self defence in the wake of several mob lynching incidents in the country recently.

"For the SC/ST community, there is a law that the government must finance in buying guns. But for minorities, I urge them to sell golds and goods of their houses to raise money to apply for gun license," Paracha said.

The lawyer has also assured of legal help if people find difficulty in procuring licenses or if anyone is victimised by false cases.

A day after Paracha made the statement, Shia cleric Maulana Kalbe Jawad tried to give a makeover of the shocking statement saying, "All we want is the safety of people because lynching is going out of control. Now Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath have promised strict actions so we have requested them to take it forth. Even if it is not taken forth, members of the minority community will be taught how to fill in the forms."

In one of the latest incidents, Muslim man Tabrez Ansari (24) was seen being beaten up by one of the two men with a stick over the suspicion of theft and was also forced to chant "Jai Shree Ram" and "Jai Hanuman".

The man later succumbed to injuries. The incident occurred last month.
