Ahmedabad, Jul 24 (UNI) Even as light to moderate rain continued to lash some parts of Gujarat, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in the state for three days starting July 27 under the influence of a new system which was expected to be formed over the Bay of Bengal on July 26.
Till 6 pm on Wednesday, a total of 49 talukas of 18 district have witnessed some good rain, with Talala in Gir Somnath district seeing the maximum of 56mm.
Meanwhile, a total of 53 talukas of 20 district had also witnessed rains.
On Wednesday, taluka Thangadh in Surendranagar district received 52mm, while Savarkundala in Amreli 50 mm, Jamkandorana in Rajkot 35 mm, Kodinar in Gir Somnath district 32mm, Lalpur in Jamnagar 31mm and Dhandhuka in Ahmedabad district 29 mm.
The state has so far received over 28% of its average annual monsoon rain.
