Krishna Chakravarty named mayor of Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation

Kolkata, July 30 (UNI): Setting at rest all speculations, Krishna Chakravarty is going to be the new Mayor of Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation, while Tapas Chatterjee will be the Deputy Mayor.

Anita Mandal will be the new chairperson.

It was decided at a meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, in the State Secretariat, Nabanna, on Tuesday.

The meeting was also attended by Kolkata Corporation Mayor Firhad Hakim, Krishna Chakravarty and Tapas Chatterjee.

Ms Chakravarty replaced Sabyasachi Dutta, who remained mayor after merging of Salt Lake Municipality and Rajarhat Municipality.

Ms Chakravarty was also earlier Chairperson of Salt Lake Municipality and then Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation.
