New Delhi, Aug 1 (IBNS): After receiving huge criticisms, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday expelled its party MLA Kuldeep Sengar who is an accused in the Unnao rape case, media reports said.

The BJP was getting criticised by the Opposition and social activists for not taking any action against Sengar.

The CBI has registered a case against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar and 10 others who are accused of committing the crime.

In a major embarrassment for the Yogi Adityanath government, the Supreme Court on Thursday decided to move four cases related to the Unnao rape out of Uttar Pradesh, which is ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The cases will be transferred to Delhi.

Survivor of the Makhi gang rape case of Unnao and a lawyer were critically injured while her mother and aunt were killed on Sunday when their car was hit by a truck at Sultanpur Khera roundabout in the district.

Police here said that the victims were going on a car to meet their relative at Rae Bareli jail when it was hit by a truck coming from opposite direction under Gurubakshganj police station area on Rae Bareli-Banda highway.

The rape survivor is presently on life-support.

The people in the car were going to Rae Bareli jail, where gang rape victim's uncle is lodged.

Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi took up the letter written by the victim. On Wednesday, he asked the Supreme Court registry why there was a delay in placing the letter by the rape victim's family before him. CJI Gogoi has also asked the registry to submit a reply as to why there was a delay within a week.

A day after the victim and her family had tried to immolate themselves in front of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's residence, the victim's father died in judicial custody allegedly by police torture.
