Gujarat police recovers Rs 99.97 lac in scrapped notes

Surat, Aug 6 (UNI) Gujarat Police on Tuesday recovered over Rs 99.97 lakh in scrapped currency notes from a bus passenger.

Police said that on a tip off they checked a bus coming from Mumbai near Niyol check post and recovered old currency worth Rs 99,97,000 from a passenger identified as Vinod Shah.

During primary interrogation Shah said that he was given this bag by someone in Mumbai for delivering it to his alias in Gujarat.

"Further investigation is on," the police added.
