Trains services badly hit by flooding of rail tracks in Kerala; several cancelled

Thiruvananthapuram/Kochi, Aug 10 (UNI) Due to flooding and trees falling on rail tracks in Kerala, several express trains have been fully/partially cancelled and some are diverted.

Thiruvananthapuram Division of Southern Railway (SR) in a release here on Saturday said, the trains fully cancelled were Thiruvananthapuram – Chennai Central express on August 10, Thiruvananthapuram – Chennai Central AC express on August 11, Ernakulam – Chennai Central special train on Sunday, Chennai Central – Thiruvananthapuram weekly express on August 11 and Kannur – Alappuzha express on Saturday.

The release said Kozhikode – Thrissur passenger and Palakkad – Ernakulam MEMU trains on Saturday is fully cancelled.

The Thrissur – Kannur passenger train is also fully cancelled today, the release said.

The release said Thiruvananthapuram – Mumbai CSMT express, Thiruvananthapuram – Kozhikode Jan Shatabdi express, Thiruvananthapuram – Indore Ahilyanagari express, Ernakulam – Kannur Inter-city express, Kochuveli – Chandigarh Kerala Sampark Kranthi express, Thiruvananthapuram – Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Netravathi express, Nilambur Road – Kochuveli Rajya Rani express, Sengottai – Kollam – Sengottai Passenger were also fully cancelled on Saturday.

The trains partially cancelled : Thiruvananthapuram – Gorakhpur Raptisagar express on August 11 between Thiruvananthapuram –Erode, Mangaluru – Nagercoil Parasuram express on Saturday between Mangaluru – Wadakkanchery , Mangaluru – Nagercoil Ernad express today between Mangaluru –Thrisur and Thiruvananthapuram – Hyderabad Sabari express train on August 10 between Thiruvananthapuram - Coimbatore.

The Kannur – Thiruvananthapuram Jan Shatabdi express train on August 10 is partially cancelled between Kannur – Shoranur. The Nagercoil – Mangaluru Ernad express on August 10 between Thrisur – Mangaluru, Nagercoil – Mangaluru Parasuram express on Saturday between Wadakkanchery – Mangaluru, Hyderabad – Thiruvananthapuram Sabari express which left on August 9 between Coimbatore – Thiruvananthapuram, Gorakhpur – Thiruvananthapuram Raptisagar express departed on August 8 between Erode – Thiruvananthapuram, Patna – Ernakulam express left on August 8 between Erode – Ernakulam, Tirunelveli – Palakkad – Tirunelveli Palaruvi Express on August 9, 10 and 11 was partially cancelled between Tirunelveli – Punalur – Tirunelveli.

The Chennai Egmore – Kollam Express left on August 9 is partially cancelled between Sengottai and Kollam, Chennai Egmore – Kollam – Chennai Egmore Express on August 10 and 11 between Sengottai – Kollam – Sengottai and Kollam - Chennai Egmore Express on August 12 between Kollam and Sengottai.

The trains diverted are : Mumbai CSMT – Kanniyakumari Jayanthi Janatha express departed on August 8 will run via Erode, Karur, Dindigul, Madurai and Tirunelveli, New Delhi –Thiruvananthapuram Kerala express left on August 8 diverted via Erode, Karur, Dindigul, Madurai, Tirunelveli and Nagercoil Town, Kanniyakumari – Mumbai CSMT Jayanthi Janatha express today will run via Nagercoil, Tirunelveli, Madurai, Dindigul, Karur and Erode, the release said.
