Congress leader arrrested in Chhatisgarh for sharing obscene video on Whatsapp group

Raipur, Aug 10 (IBNS): A Congress leader was arrested by the police in Chhattaisgarh's Bilaspur district for allegedly sharing  an obscene video in a WhatsApp group.

The arrested leader was identified as Pawan Dubey.

Police was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times that Pawan Dubey, joint secretary of Bilaspur district unit, allegedly shared a porn video on a WhatsApp group on Friday along with a comment saying, “first trend arriving from Kashmir after the Article 370 was scrapped”.

Several women lodged a complaint against the politician following the incident.

“On Thursday evening, on basis of the complaint of women leaders we have arrested the accused,” SP Bilaspur Prashant Agarwal was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times. 

Dubey was booked under section 292 of the IPC (showing obscene material) and provisions of Information Technology (IT) Act, he told the news paper.
