Police arrest a Jemandar of 8 Manipur Rifles with drugs worth Rs 4 crore

Guwahati, Aug 17 (IBNS): The Manipur police arrested a security personnel for his involvement in drugs smuggling.

Manipur police had seized huge quantity of drugs worth Rs 4 crore in Manipur’s Moreh town on Friday evening.

Police also arrested one Jemandar of 8 Manipur Rifles with the drugs.

According to the reports, during checking at a check point at Moreh town, the Tengnoupal district police had arrested the jemandar of 8 Manipur Rifles named Holal Haokip and seized 2 lakh pieces of WY tablets in possession from him, which worth over Rs 4 crore in the international market.

The arrested person had carried the drugs kept in polythene bags.
