Had extremely productive discussions with Emmanuel Macron: PM Modi
Paris: Meeting French President Emmanuel Macron during his France visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he had an "extremely productive discussions" with the former on "economic and people-to-people ties".
Modi tweeted, "I am honoured that President @EmmanuelMacron has hosted me in the historic Château de Chantilly. We had extremely productive discussions on improving economic and people-to-people ties. Strong India-France ties help our citizens as well as contribute to a better planet."

Also four MoUs have been signed during the Prime Minister's France visit.
The four MoUs are administrative arrangement between the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of the Republic of India and the Ministry of National Education and Youth, Government of the French Republic for Cooperation in Skill Development and Vocational Training; memorandum of agreement between National Institute of Solar Energy(NISE), Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India and The French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA); cooperation agreement between Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), an autonomous scientific society of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and ATOS and implementing arrangement between ISRO and CNES France for Joint Maritime Domain Awareness.
Modi also said the India-France friendship is essentially based on the three essential principles of liberty, equality and fraternity.
"The relationship between India and France is hundreds of years old. Our friendship is based on the principles of liberty, equality and fraternity and not selfishness....To fight cross border terror, France has always rendered invaluable support to India and for this I would like to thank President Emmanuel Macron," Modi said after bilateral talks with French President at Château de Chantilly.
He said India and France will further expand cooperation in counter terrorism and security.
"Both our countries are constantly facing terrorism. We thank President Macron for the valuable support that France has received in combating cross-border terrorism. We intend to broaden cooperation on security and counter-terrorism," Modi said.
There will be enhanced ties between India and France also in other vital sectors such as Climate Change, Environment, and Technology, the Prime Minister said.
Modi wished Macron for his leadership of France and the G-7 with a new vision and said "together we can pave the way for a safe and prosperous world."
"France and India stand firm together to meet the challenges of inclusive development of Climate Change, Environment, and Technology," the PM said.
Scaling new heights of friendship, PM Narendra Modi and President Emmanuel Macron held more than 90-minute long one-on-one meeting reviewing the entire gamut of their dynamic and multifaceted relationship.
