Reform, perform, transform: PM Modi on New India to NRIs in France: Highlights
Paris: Amid thunderous applause of the Indian community gathered at the UNESCO Headquarters, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on Friday assuring that India is now moving in a fast track of development and equality. He said his government is goal-oriented and did away with injustices like Triple Talaq to build a new India. Without naming the scrapping of Article 370 and Kashmir, he said it took some 70 years to remove temporary provisions.
"It took 70 years to remove provisions that are temporary (without naming Kashmir) Reform, Perform, Transform.. India is on a roll. We will complete our goal," he said.
Excerpts of his speech:
The verdict we got is not just for a new government but to build a new India. An India that is the pride of the world.
We work to make an India that will focus on ease of doing business and also ease of living too. There were many positive changes in India in the past five years.
In India there are perhaps more supporters of French football team than in France. I am in the country of football lovers and you all know what is the significance of a goal. If you have to achieve ultimately, you have to score a goal. We had set goals in past five years which were considered impossible. But with team spirit we fulfilled them and showed.
If the maximum number of bank accounts opened in a span of time is evaluated worldwide, it is India. The biggest healthcare scheme is being implemented now in India.
We will fulfill the goal of making India Tuberculosis free by 2025.
We are coming out of poverty. India is today ahead in the world of start-ups. Talented youth of small towns making new innovations.
In today's India corruption, nepotism, loot of public money, terrorism are being bridled like never before.
There is no question of getting tired or stopping in new India.
In only 75 days of the new government we have new clear policies and we have taken new big decisions.
We have new ministry on water. Pension for poor. Triple Talaq was hanging like a sword, we ended it. India will benefit from the crores of blessing of these women. Injustice to Muslim sisters and daughters cannot be accepted by new India.

India will be fourth country to land in moon.
India and France fought for each other and also lived together. 9000 Indian soldiers in Second World War had fought here for humanity and sacrificed their lives. Indians here should never forget them. We fought fascism and extremism both in India and France.
Liberty, equality and fraternity are slogans of both countries.
Nowadays we talk of 21st century INFRA. IN plus FRA i.e. Alliance of INDIA and FRANCE: From Solar Infra to Social Infra, from Technical Infra to Space Infra, from Digital Infra to Defense Infra, the Alliance of India and France is moving strongly
Another feature of Indo-French relations is that we face challenges with concrete action. There is a lot of talk of climate change in the world, but little is seen on them happening in action. We initiated the International Solar Alliance together with President Menck.
I am told that the Ganpati Festival has become the main feature of the Parisian cultural calendar. On this day, Paris transforms into mini India. That is, a few days from now, the echo of Ganpati Bappa Maurya will also be heard here
It took 70 years to remove provisions that are temporary (without naming Kashmir) Reform, Perform, Transform.. India is on a roll. We will complete our goal.
