Spot on Chief: 'Constructive critic' Shashi Tharoor backs Rahul Gandhi's Kashmir view
New Delhi: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who has recently urged his party men to respect his "constructive criticism" of the Modi government, on Wednesday backed Rahul Gandhi who said Jammu and Kashmir is India's internal matter.
"Spot on, Chief! This is what @INCIndia has insisted all along: J&K is an integral part of India; we opposed the manner in which Art.370 was abrogated because the way it was done assaulted our Constitution& democratic values. No reason for Pak to draw any comfort from our stand," Tharoor said in a tweet.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said that Kashmir is an 'internal issue' of India and there is no room for any other country, including Pakistan, to interfere in it.
"I disagree with this Govt. on many issues. But, let me make this absolutely clear: Kashmir is India’s internal issue & there is no room for Pakistan or any other foreign country to interfere in it," he tweeted.

In a setback for the Centre, the Supreme Court on Wednesday said a five-judge constitutional bench will hear the pleas that have challenged the Narendra Modi government's scrapping of Article 370 to withdraw Jammu and Kashmir's special status and also issued a notice to the Centre.
The matter will be taken up by the top court in October.
Also Rahul, the former Congress president, said the violence in the valley is "instigated and supported by Pakistan", toeing the line of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
"There is violence in Jammu & Kashmir. There is violence because it is instigated and supported by Pakistan which is known to be the prime supporter of terrorism across the world," he said.
