Guwahati, Sept 1 (IBNS): Sabimal Biswas, a retired State Bank of India (SBI) officer, seems to be in total helplessness after he didn’t find out his name in the final National Register of Citizens (NRC) which was published on Aug 31.

Over 19 lakh people could not find their place in the list.

Born in 1947, in Assam’s Karimganj district, Sabimal Biswas – a resident at Odalbakra area in Guwahati on Saturday shocked after his name was not figured in the list.

Not only Sabimal, his wife and younger daughter’s name were also not listed in the list.

The retired SBI officer said that he had used same legacy data for himself and his two daughters.

“But my one daughter’s name was included, but our three other family members name were not. We had used same legacy data for inclusion our names,” Sabimal Biswas said.

Before joining in SBI, Sabimal Biswas had served two years in the Survey of India and Assam state government education department as an employee.

“Among my two daughters, one name was listed while we had used same legacy data. But, my, wife and my younger daughter’s name were not included. When I was student, I played football and got appointed in DPI office (Assam government education department). After serving two years in DPI office, I joined in the Survey of India in 1967. After that, I had decided to search other job and applied in bank, appeared in the examination and finally got a job in SBI in 1970. I feel like that, owner has been pushed back and naturally, I fall in depression,” Sabimal Biswas said.
