Visakhapatnam, Sep 5 (UNI) Moderate to heavy rain lashed several parts of Visakhapatnam on Thursday.
Rains accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, led to inundation in low-lying areas and traffic chaos in several junctions.
However, the heavy rain brought happiness to the farmers of Vizag district.
Lack of adequate rains in this season became major hurdle to the kharif agricultural works.
Rain for the last few days in the district would help to gear up agricultural work as water bodies were slowly filling up, groundwater levels raising with this rains, officials said.
