Uttar Pradesh: Woman shot dead in Etawah

Etawah, Sep 21 (UNI) A woman, who was attending her father's 'shraddh,' was shot dead by her husband's friend in the Gaurapur village situated in the Friends Colony area of this Uttar Pradesh district, police said on Saturday.

Etawah's Superintendent of Police Ram Yash Singh here said that a case pertaining to murder of the woman Sangam Yadav, has been registered against six people including one Rohit.

Three teams have been made active to nab the absconding culprits.
The SP said that the woman's husband, Prabhakant Yadav and his friend had an altercation over money matter.

During the course of the argument, the friend opened fire which hit the woman standing behind her husband, which led to her death.

The couple used to reside in Malupur Kishni area of Mainpuri and had come to the Gaurapura village to attend the 'shraddh' of Sangam Yadav's father.

Prabhakant Yadav's friend also came from Mainpuri, this morning and started talking about money matter which took an ugly turn. Upon hearing the argument, Sangam also came outside the home.

As the matter heated up, Prabhakant's friend opened fire from a country-made pistol. Although Prabhakant defended himself by bowing down, the bullet hit Sangam Yadav in her stomach while the accused fled from the spot.

The woman was rushed to the Saifai Medical University where she succumbed to her wounds while receiving treatment.
