The order said ''Now therefore the undersinged in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of Rule 10 of the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965, hereby places the said Vasumathi under suspension with immediate effect.

''It is further ordered that during the suspension, the headquarters (HQ) of Vasumathi shall be in Chennai and she shall not leave the HQ without obtaining the previous permission of the undersigned," it said.

Though the suspension order did not disclose any reason, sources said she was charged with wilful subordination as she did not live telecast the Modi's event despite being asked to do so explicitly.
