New Delhi: After parting ways with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Delhi MLA Alka Lamba is set to join the Congress ahead of the assembly polls next year.
Lamba, an MLA from Chandni Chowk, announced on Twitter that she couldn't join the Congress on Friday due to some reasons but will be making her presence in the grand old party on Saturday.
"Due to some reasons, me and my mates could not join the Congress today. We will join the Congress tomorrow. I am sorry for causing inconvenience," Lamba said on Twitter.
In early September, Lamba had resigned from the AAP citing "arrogance" of some of her colleagues.
Alka, who served the Congress for 20 years, had joined the AAP in 2014.
She had contested and won the assembly polls from Chandni Chowk constituency in Delhi in 2015.
The AAP is facing a stiff challenge in Delhi from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which has won all the seats in the Lok Sabha Elections 2019.
