Does Rahul Gandhi want England's intervention in Kashmir? Amit Shah attacks Congress leader
Mumbai: Launching his attack on the Congress leader over England's Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn's tweet on Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Amit Shah on Friday asked whether Rahul Gandhi wants to allow the England leaders to intervene in the crisis related to the valley.
Addressing a rally in poll-bound Maharashtra, Shah said, "Overseas INC chief and associate of Rahul Gandhi, Kamal Dhaliwal, met Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn in the UK and discussed Kashmir. Does Rahul Gandhi want to give a free hand to the leaders of England to intervene in Kashmir, India's internal matter?"
The genesis of the fresh political rivalry can be traced back to Corbyn's tweet where he had said, "A very productive meeting with UK representatives from the Indian Congress Party where we discussed the human rights situation in Kashmir. There must be a de-escalation and an end to the cycle of violence and fear which has plagued the region for so long."

In a tweet, the BJP had said, "Appalling! @INCIndia owes it to the people of India to explain what its leaders are telling foreign leaders about India. India will give a befitting reply to Congress for these shameful shenanigans!"

Refuting Corbyn's claim, Congress leader Anand Sharma said, "We are shocked by this misrepresentation. Any issue pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir are purely India's internal affairs."
The tweet is seen as embarrassing for the Congress party especially since the Labour Party has been a critique of the Centre's move to end special status to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370.
Soon after the controversy broke, the UK Congress wing sought to clarify the same in its tweet.
It stated that the representatives had met Corbyn to reiterate that Jammu and Kashmir is an internal matter and that no intervention will be accepted.
Our meeting with @jeremycorbyn was held to condemn the Kashmir resolution passed by his Party & to reiterate that J&K is an internal matter & outside intervention will not be accepted. @BJP4India's malicious statements are another attempt to distract people from their failures.

We refute Mr @jeremycorbyn’s tweet. We have reiterated to him that his party must take up the issue of terrorism & terror groups with Pakistan & they should not interfere in India’s internal matters.@kamalpreetDhal4
