Srinagar: More than two months after the Centre abrogated Articles 370, the Jammu and Kashmir government will restore mobile phone facilities at noon on Monday.

In a statement on last Saturday, the government had said, "Having reviewed the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, a decision has been taken to restore mobile phone facilities in all the remaining areas of Jammu & Kashmir.

More specifically, all post-paid mobile phones, irrespective of the telecom service provider, will stand restored and functional from 12 noon on Monday, 14 October 2019.

This will cover all 10 districts of Kashmir province."

The government had said restrictions on movement in 99 per cent of Jammu and Kashmir was lifted and media was also allowed to work through media centre equipped with all facilities.

Also the travel advisory has also been lifted in the valley.

The restrictions were imposed on Aug 4, a day before the Narendra Modi government took the historic step of doing away with the Jammu and Kashmir's special status by abrogating Articles 370 and 35A.

The Jammu and Kashmir administration had earlier said the political leaders of the valley including former Chief Ministers, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, who have been kept under house arrest, will be released phase wise.
