MLKhattar takes oath as CM of Haryana for the second term, Dushyant Chautala becomes his deputy
Chandigarh/IBNS: Manohar Lal Khattar took oath as the Chief Minister of Haryana for the second time on Sunday at the Raj Bhavan here.
Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) leader Dushyant Chautala took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister in the BJP-led government in the state.
BJP, which won 40 seats in the just-concluded Haryana Assembly elections, six short of the majority, entered into an alliance with Dushyant Chautala's Jannayak Janta Party(JJP) which grabbed 10 seats to form the next state government.
The post-poll alliance was formalised in a quick meeting between Dushyant Chautala and BJP National President Amit Shah.
Seven independents have also declared their support for a BJP-led government in Haryana, helping BJP to reach a tally of 57 in the 90-member Assembly.
Backed by the numbers, BJPand its allied had placed the claim to form the next government in the state at a meeting on Saturday with Haryana Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya.
