New Delhi/IBNS: Three political leaders from Jammu and Kashmir, which included one from the Congress, attended the lunch hosted by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval for visiting European Union delegation members on Monday.

Sources told NDTV the three Kashmiri leaders present on the occasion included the state's former Deputy Chief Minister Muzafar Baig, a leader of Mehbooba Mufti's People's Democratic Party and Altaf Bukhari who was earlier with the PDP. Usman Majeed, who is from the Congress, was also present.

Incidentally, Mufti. the supremo of the PDP, has been put under detention for the past several months.

The EU members are likely to visit Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday where the Indian government scrapped Article 370 a few months ago which granted special status to the region. The move led to Pakistan mounting an attack on India on the global forums, including the UN, with an unrelenting effort to internationalise the Kashmir issue.

The EU members met PM Narendra Modi in New Delhi earlier in the day.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attacked the ruling BJP government over the EU delegation visit.

"MPs from Europe are welcome to go on a guided tour of Jammu & #Kashmir while Indian MPs are banned & denied entry. There is something very wrong with that," Gandhi tweeted.
