We should keep faith in judicial inquiry into Tis Hazari violence: Delhi Police Commissioner
New Delhi/IBNS: Addressing the cops protesting against the assault on police personnel by lawyers last week in Tiz Hazari court here, Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik on Tuesday urged all to keep faith in the judicial inquiry ordered by the High Court into the incident.
Accepting the demands of the protesting doctors, Patnaik came out in public and addressed them saying, "We will have to believe in the judicial inquiry ordered by the Delhi High Court."
Terming the assault as an one-off incident, the CP said, "These are stray incident and we should not generalise these incidents. I appeal all to maintain peace and resume works."
In an unprecedented protest, the Delhi police personnel on Tuesday gathered outside the Police Headquarters calling a strike in their duties.
Lawyers and police personnel clashed at the Tis Hazari Court in New Delhi on last Saturday.
During the clash, several cars were set ablaze.
Following Saturday's clash between police and lawyers at Tis Hazari courts, agitating lawyers on Monday manhandled a policeman outside the courts complex in Saket while the protesting advocates also clashed with police outside Karkardooma courts here.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court lawyers also protested on various issues and have demanded Rs 10 lakh compensation for each lawyer injured in the Tis Hazari incident.
