Moscow/UNI: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday arrived on a three-day visit to Moscow during which he is expected to hold bilateral meetings to boost defence cooperation.

A statement released by Ministry of Defence said, ''Singh is scheduled to visit Russian Federation from November 5-7 to co-chair 19th India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Military and Military Technical Cooperation (IRIGC-M&MTC) in Moscow.''

Before leaving, Mr Singh posted on Twitter, ''I would be in Russia from 5th to 7th November to attend various programmes including India-Russia Defence Industry Cooperation Conference in Moscow. I will also be attending bilateral meeting with Russian Defence Minister, General Sergei Shoigu to boost defence cooperation.''

Mr Singh is expected to hold extensive discussions with his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu covering all areas of military-to-military cooperation and defence industrial cooperation, the statement added.

The Minister is scheduled to inaugurate, along with Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, ‘India-Russia Defence Industry Cooperation Conference’, which will discuss ways to promote defence industrial cooperation between India and Russia, technology transfer and investment in India in defence industry under the ‘Make in India’ programme, it added.
