Rahul should apologise to PM, nation after SC verdict on Rafael: Jharkhand CM
Ranchi/UNI: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Thursday demanded that Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party should apologise to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of the entire country post the verdict of the Supreme Court on the Rafael deal.
Addressing a hurriedly convened press conference at the BJP headquarters here, he said that the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi had tried to malign the image of Prime Minister Modi over the Rafael Deal before the crores of people of the country, however, the verdict of the Supreme Court has brought out the truth in the open.
Describing Congress Party as the one which gave birth to corruption in the country right from the Jeep Scam which took place under Nehru cabinet to coal scam and telecom spectrum scams, he said, the 'Mother and Son' are themselves out on bail over the charges of corruption, therefore, Congress and Rahul Gandhi should seek an apology from the nation.
He said after going through the entire process the Supreme Court has found nothing wrong in the deal and has rejected the petition for review.
Das said the Congress should understand that fake and falsehood no longer work in this country and exuded confidence that in the assembly polls of Jharkhand the 3.25 crore people will be teaching a lesson to the Congress party for raising questions over the security of the nation.
Earlier, in the day the Supreme Court gave a clean chit to the Narendra Modi government in the Rafale fighter jets deal case, saying review petitions against the deal lacked merit.
The court struck down pleas that had sought re-examination of the Dec 14,,2018 verdict which said there was no occasion to doubt the decision-making process in the procurement of 36 Rafale fighter jets.
