Assam: Police arrest three Nigerians for illegally entered India from Bangladesh
Guwahati/IBNS: Police arrested three Nigerian nationals from a Guwahati-bound passenger bus in Assam’s Karimganj district along Assam-Tripura border on Friday night who illegally entered India without valid documents.
According to the reports, the Nigerian nationals had entered Indian territory from Bangladesh side without valid documents.
Based on specific information, the Karimganj district police had checked a passenger bus coming from Agartala towards Guwahati at Churaibari and detained three Nigerian nationals.
During proper checking, police found that, they had entered India from Bangladesh without valid documents.
Later, police had arrested them and registered a case at Churaibari police station.
The arrested Nigerian nationals were identified as Ohaezube (son of Chinonso Philip), Eteanyiwara (son of Ohenukwu Simeon) and Asieme (son of Nnaemeka Bernard).
Police had also recovered three passports and other documents in possession from them.
It is to be mentioned that, the Assam police and Meghalaya police have arrested over 30 Nigerian nationals in past a month.
A police official of Karimganj district said that, the arrested Nigerian nationals have confessed that, they had illegally entered India from Bangladesh via Tripura.
“We have received an information that, three Nigerian nationals are coming from Agartala in a Guwahati-bound passenger bus. Immediately we stopped the vehicle at Churabari and during checking, we have arrested three Nigerian nationals who illegally entered India. They have not any valid documents,” police official said.
