Jamshedpur/UNI: All eyes are likely to be on Jamshedpur (East) assembly seat in the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand as five-time MLA from the constituency Chief Minister Raghubar Das is all set to lock horns with former minister and his ex-cabinet colleague Saryu Rai.

Both Raghubar Das and Saryu Rai filed their nominations today which was also the last day of filing of nominations for the seats going to polls in the second phase on December 7.

However, prior to filing his nominations Saryu Rai tendered his resignation as the cabinet minister and also as the MLA of the house.

Mr Rai also filed his nominations from Jamshedpur(West) where he is the incumbent MLA.

Apart from the two heavy weights, Congress nominee Gourav Ballabh from Jamshedpur (East) and Banna Gupta from Jamshedpur (West) also filed their nominations.

In wake of the high profile nominations, the district administration led by DC had made elaborate arrangements and imposed a ban on the entry of the vehicles from 0600hrs to 2300hrs.

During the nomination process huge crowd was witnessed in the DC office and also in the adjoining areas.

Since 10 candidates had taken permission to take out processions, the administration had taken special measures.

Jamshedpur (East) and Jamshedpur (West) are among the 20 seats where polling will be held in the second phase on December 7.
